He met the students of Shaheed Subedar Mewa Singh School of Eminence and spoke about the beginning of the education revolution. 118 Schools of Eminence are established in the state, where students get free education and coaching for competitive exams. The government is trying to bridge the gap between government and private schools in the field of education. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann today said that the state government is making continuous efforts to make the future of youth bright so that our youth become job providers and not job seekers. During this, while interacting with the students, he said that the state government has started a new era of education revolution in Punjab. He said that this revolution prepares students for the competitive environment of the future and enables them to reach new heights in life. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that on one hand unprecedented steps have been taken to provide employment to the youth, on the other hand many efforts are being made to channelize the immense energy of the youth in the right direction. The Chief Minister said that just as runways at airports help planes take off, the state government helps the youth to realize their dreams. He said that the state has launched “Education Revolution” in the year 2022 to transform the dreams of the children of Punjab into reality and reach new heights in life. The chief minister said looking at the past, we feel sad how wrong policies deprived poor children of their right to education. The Chief Minister said that the state government has now taken such revolutionary steps in the field of education which are appreciated in the entire country. He informed that a total of 118 Schools of Eminence are being established in the state, on which Rs 231.74 crore has been spent so far. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that these schools are considered as a good start to the bright future of poor children. The Chief Minister said that free uniforms are given to the students in these schools and free bus service is arranged specially for girls so that not even a single girl is deprived of education. He expressed the hope that these schools would brighten the lives of thousands of students by providing quality education as “temples of the modern age”. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that it is a matter of pride that students from private schools are now also taking admission in these Schools of Eminence, which is a testament to the success of this model. The chief minister said that these students are given special coaching for preparation for the armed forces as well as for competitive exams like NEET, JEE, CLAT and NIFT. He said that it was a matter of great pride that 265 students from Schools of Eminence and other government schools qualified in the JEE Mains examination, 44 students cleared JEE Advanced and 848 students cleared NEET. The Chief Minister further informed that under another initiative “School Mentorship Program” has been started, under which senior officials provide guidance to the students of government schools. The chief minister said that Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) has been started in government schools, which has received tremendous support from the parents. He said that currently there are 19,200 government schools in Punjab and around 25 lakh parents are on PTM. Took part in Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government is making determined efforts to bridge the gap between the government and private schools in the field of quality education.
