CM Dhami met Finance Minister Sitharaman, expressed gratitude for the support that Uttarakhand received.

New -delhi, October 9 (IANS). The chief minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami, met on Thursday in New Union Minister of the Union, and had detailed discussions on various important issues related to the state. CM Dhami congratulated the Minister of Finance on the successful implementation of GST reforms and expressed his gratitude for the support the Ministry of Finance gave to the state of Uttarakhand. Chief minister Dhami said the population pressure is constantly increasing in the urban areas of the Uttarakhand state. There is a great need for improvement and upgrade of the urban drainage system in an ecologically sensitive and heavy rainfall region. For this, DPRs were prepared for upgrading and improving the stormwater drainage system for the ten most rain-raised districts of the state, the total estimated cost Rs 8,589.47 crore. He requested the Union Minister of Finance to approve these projects in accordance with the special aid scheme to the states for capital investment. CM Dhami also requested Finance Minister Sitharaman for early approval of external -supported projects of the Uttarakhand state. He said Uttarakhand Climate Resilience Development Project was approved from the three important projects offered by the state government. In addition, a proposal of Rs 850 crore for the public financial management reinforcement project and Rs 800 crore for making the water supply system also sent to the central government by the state government. He requested the Union Minister of the Union to approve these projects soon. In the continuation of the earlier assurance received from the Minister of Finance, Chief Minister Dhami Uttarakhand urged quickly approval to 4 other major projects, in addition to the sealing of external support projects for the financial year 2023-24 to 2025-26. These projects include water and sanitation urban infrastructure development project worth Rs 2,000 crore, drip-iii worth Rs 424 crore, Uttarakhand climate resilient intra-state power transmission system development worth Rs 3.638 Crore and Uttarakhand Power Distribution Reliability of Rs 1.566 crore. The chief minister said that all these projects will strengthen the state’s infrastructure, water source management, energy and public service delivery system.
