Co -operatives Minister forms task force to deal with problematic cooperatives
Jakarta – Minister of Co -operatives (Menkop) Ferry Juliantono has formed a task force (task force) to deal with problematic cooperatives. Currently, one cooperative has been eliminated due to problems. Initially, Ferry said a number of programs at the Ministry of Co -operatives still need improvement. He also said cooperatives still could not compete with corporations. “Because in the last few years, because they were unable to compete with the corporations, it has lost many cooperatives that previously worked in the production, distribution and even industrial sectors, many of these have lost because the state has no role in regulating our economic system, and eventually many cooperatives have moved into the savings and loan sector,” Ferry said in the Trace Pradana program. Because there is a lack of caution and supervision. “The result is that there are many savings and loan cooperative activities, which, if the principles of caution and good supervision are not followed, will also have an impact on many problematic cooperatives,” he said. That is why Ferry said that the Ministry of Co -operatives has currently created a task group to deal with problematic cooperatives. Law enforcement officers are also included in the task force. “We at the Ministry of Co -operatives have now replaced the task force, formed a task group and replaced the task force administrators, task force officials because the task group must also be replaced by law enforcement to deal with the large number or number of problematic cooperatives that are of great value,” he said. Ferry said there are eight problematic cooperatives. Currently, one problematic cooperative is eliminated. “Yesterday, of the eight problematic cooperatives, we eliminated one, but there are only seven problematic cooperatives left,” he said. This task force will also be refined later. The plan is that the task force will also be equipped with digitization. “We want to improve the posture of the task force for dealing with problematic cooperatives, especially as it will use tools outside law enforcement and help with digitalization equipment,” he said.
