On Monday, March 31, there was a clash between two groups of the same community in the Tirwada town of Nuh district Haryana after Eid prayers. More than five people were injured in this violent collision. The incident happened around 9am shortly after Eid prayers and allegedly occurred as a result of prolonged enmity between the two groups. According to police, the collision increased after the arguments of members of a group who returned to Eid prayers of Idgah. The situation soon became violent and both sides attacked each other with sticks. Officials confirmed that the groups concerned were led by Rashid and Sajid, whereby the ongoing dispute also led to collisions and legal matters. After receiving information on the violence, police acted on the scene immediately. Several teams were sent from nearby police stations to the town and they managed to restore peace and order. Police spokesman Krishna Kumar said: “A police team has been deployed in the village to maintain peace and to prevent further violence.” The injured persons were identified as Miru and Hafeez of Rashid and Khurshid, Ashmin and Noor Mohammed of the Sajid group, rushed to the hospital for treatment. According to police, some other people also sustained minor injuries. Officials continue to investigate the incident. A formal case is expected to be registered soon.
