PM Surya Ghar Yojana: Hospital managed with ordinary people from Dholpur also relieves heavy electricity bill

Dholpur, May 22 (IANS). The ‘Prime Minister Surya Ghar Free Power Scheme’, which was launched in February 2024, changes the lives of people in Dholpur, Rajasthan. Apart from homes, this scheme has reduced the electricity bills of institutions such as hospitals. Residents of Dholpur, who were once taxed with electricity bills up to R10-10 thousand per month, now report to save up to 70 percent in their monthly bills after installing solar panels on the roofs under this scheme. The beneficiaries also include Nikhil Aggarwal, which is a practice doctor who runs local hospitals. Aggarwal, who spoke to the News Agency Ians, said: “Our electricity bill came about 10 thousand rupees earlier each month due to the excessive use of AC, fans and lights. But after switching to the solar power by the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, our bill fell to only Rs 2,500. Premier Narendra Modi officially launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 13, 2024, which aims to provide solar energy to 1 crore homes.
