Dave said the House of Representatives Commission I encouraged the Ministry of Communications and Information along with institutions such as KPI and the Indonesian Child Protection Commission to do an extensive evaluation. He hopes that there will be a digital content curation mechanism, including the age classification system and the supervision of the recommendation algorithm. “If a violation is found at the principle of child protection or moral norms, there must of course be a fixed step, including administrative sanctions or the distribution of content,” he said. Dave said his party is open to improving the rule of law related to the development of technology and the dynamics of digital content. He emphasized that this rule will involve all parties. “But the approach must be proportional, not being oppressive, and can still guarantee public rights to healthy and responsible information,” Dave said. “We will continue to oversee this issue and encourage constructive dialogue between government, digital platforms and civil society, so that ecosystems for digital media in Indonesia remain safe, inclusive and in line with national identity,” he added.
