Congress announces election committee from Dadra and Nagar Haveli

New Delhi, October 16 (IANS). The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has reconstituted the ‘State Election Committee’ of the Dadra and Nagar Haveli Territorial Congress Committee, which will be effective till October 16, 2025. These changes reflect the party’s strategic efforts to improve its organizational strength in various sectors and roles. A press release details the constitution of the State Election Committee of the Union Territory. The new members are Prabhu Tokia, Ajit Mahala, Mahesh Dhody, Rajendra Patel, Sadiq Shaikh, Digesh Joshi, Raman Kakwa, Nana Saheb Shinde, Amol Meshram and Vanita Meshram. The purpose of this appointment is to strengthen the party’s election preparation in the region. The Political Affairs Committee has been expanded to have six additional members, including Rajmohan Unnithan, VK Srikandan, Dean Kuriakose, Pandalam Sudhakaran, CP Mohammed and AK Mani. This step was taken to improve the committee’s ability to deal with political challenges and formulate effective strategies. The list of general secretaries now includes a diverse group of 22 members including Pazhakulam Madhu, Tommy Kallani, K. Jayant, Deepti Mary Varghese and PA Salim, etc. This team will oversee the national operations and policy implementation of the party. The list of vice-presidents included T. Sarathchandra Prasad, Hibi Eden and Roy K. Paulos, while VA Narayananam was appointed as the new treasurer. In the list of general secretaries, N. Shailaj, BRM 58 members like Shafir and Simon Alex have joined, reflecting broad representation across India. These updates, announced on Thursday, signal the Congress party’s commitment to reviving its leadership. These changes are part of an effort to ensure stronger representation and prepare for future political activity.
