Congress Office including Kawasi Lakhma and his son's property
The Directorate for Enforcement Directorate performed in the Chhattisgarh drink scam on Friday. The ED also seized the congress Bhavan with the property of former Minister Kavasi Lakhma. The ED seized assets worth Rs 5.50 crore of Kavasi Lakhma, his son Harish Lakhma. In addition, the Congress Office in Sukma was seized on the site of Rs 65 Lakh. According to the Ed, Kavasi Lakhma earned an illegal amount of Rs 72 crore. Out of this amount, Rs 4.60 crore was spent on building houses and travel. The order of the ED mentions that Kavasi Lakhma will intentionally obtain, earn, preserve and use the income of the crime obtained from the liquor fraud. An attempt was made to show this amount as a valid money and the remaining amount was hidden so that the maintenance agencies could not detect it. During the investigation, it was also found that Kaswasi Lakhma 375 square meters (4035 square feet) of the Chhattisgarh Housing Council for about Rs 4 Lakh in the MLA colony in Purana, Raipur, bought, which according to Rs 93.75 Lakh was according to the current rate. According to the ED order, 100% of the property of Raipur’s property and 71.33% of the built building is attached and the remaining 28.67% are attached as the price of the offense. Similarly, 85% of assets in SUKMA are also attached as they were made from the income of crime. The order of the ED mentions that the temporary attachment of these assets is completely appropriate.
