A serious attack on the country’s judiciary came when Chief Justice (CJI) BR a shoe was thrown to Gawai. This incident asked questions about the safety of the country’s judiciary. Dalit politics also flared up. Former Delhi chief minister Arind Kejriwal expressed deep concerns about this incident. He said that it was not the reaction of just one person, but that it was part of a conspiracy to intimidate the entire judiciary and the Dalit community. What did Kejriwal say? Arind Kejriwal praised CJI Gavai for keeping calm and ignoring the incident and called it a symbol of his greatness. However, he warned that if no action is taken against such incidents, it could undermine the independence and effectiveness of the judiciary. Kejriwal has requested the authorities to act strictly to prevent such incidents in the future. What happened during the incident? The 71-year-old lawyer Rakesh Kishore casts shoes at CJI Gavai in court no. 1 of the Delhi High Court. The incident happened at the court during working hours. However, the shoe did not hit the Chief Justice Gavai directly. The security personnel acted immediately and took the teenager out of court. Later, Delhi police questioned the accused teenager. According to police officers, Kishore took the extreme step because he was dissatisfied with the statement of Chief Justice Gavai in a case on September 16. The case was related to the restoration of an idol of Lord Vishnu in the Khajuraho Temple in Madhya Pradesh. The teen was released after interrogation. These leaders called the attack shame! Prime Minister Narendra Modi, congressional leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, and several main ministers described the incident as an attack on democracy and the judiciary. Kejriwal also said that Chief Justice Gavai is mocked and threatened on social media, but that no serious steps are taken. He suggested it be an organized campaign aimed at pushing the judiciary. What did the accused say? Rakesh Kishore said with the media that he took this step under the influence of a “divine power”. However, the incident is considered disrespectful and inappropriate to the judiciary. Earlier, Noida police kept Youtuber Ajit Bharti some time. Bharti made remarks against Chief Justice Gavai in an online debate held a few weeks before the incident. This incident is not only a negative response from an individual, but is also considered a direct attack on the independence and dignity of the judiciary. Share this story -tags
