Condemning the brutal killing of a Dalit man in Prayagraj and the humiliating treatment meted out to a Dalit elder in Lucknow, Mayawati demanded strict action. Mayawati News: Recently two barbaric incidents against Dalits took place in Uttar Pradesh. Referring to these incidents, BSP chief Mayawati put the law and order situation of the UP government in the dock. Mayawati said, ‘UP government should take strict action against the criminal, anarchist and feudal elements running rampant. So that the increasing trend of such shameful and violent incidents can be stopped. BSP chief Mayawati wrote on her official Such inhuman incidents happening in other states of the country including Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh are highly condemnable and alarming. Mayawati further wrote, ‘The governments of Uttar Pradesh and other states must take strict action against such rampant criminal, anarchist and feudal elements and establish the rule of law in their respective states. So that the increasing trend of such shameful and violent incidents can be stopped, i.e. strict adherence to the law is necessary in the public interest. Mayawati mentioned these two incidents from UP: Murder of Dalit in Dhumanganj Police Station area of Prayagraj: Some people killed 40-year-old Ravendra Kumar alias Munnu, resident of Neemsay, by hitting him with bricks and stones at the petrol pump at Mundera Chungi. Deceased Munnu was a road bus driver on Sandiva. At this time, when the local people raised an alarm, the attackers fled from the place. On receiving information, the family members also reached the spot and admitted him in a critical condition to the hospital for treatment. Where the doctors pronounced him dead. There was chaos in the house as soon as the news of Ravendra’s death was received. Angry family members and local people returned to the spot in Neemsarai with the body and blocked the road. He alleged that Ravendra was killed as part of a conspiracy and the police did not act in time. After this incident, on the complaint of Narendra Kumar, the police registered a case against Hasnain, Noorain, Ali, Kamran, Irfan, Hussain, Kaif and three to four unknown accused. Lucknow Urination Scandal: On the Diwali night of October 20, an inhumane incident came to light in Lucknow’s Kakori village, in which an elderly Dalit was misbehaved and beaten up in the temple premises. Rampal Rawat (65), resident of Hata Hazrat Saheb Ward, was ill and went for a walk to the Sheetla Temple around 9:00 pm. Rampal, who was sitting in the temple premises after a walk, unknowingly urinated. Meanwhile, Swami Kant alias Pammu of the temple operator family reached the spot and started beating Rampal accusing him of spreading filth in the temple. When Rampal said it was only water, the accused insulted him and said if there is water then leak it and show it. Compelled by the fear of insult, Rampal did so. When the victim went home and informed about the incident, anger spread among the family members and villagers. The police reached the information and arrested the accused Swami Kant alias Pammu and registered a case against him under serious sections including the SC-ST Act. On receiving information about the incident, former MP Kaushal Kishore and his MLA wife also reached the victim’s house and visited the incident site. Rampal Rawat, who lives in front of the temple, narrated the entire incident in detail to the police and public representatives.
