"One Nation, One Election" must be implemented soon: SWARN Singh Channi
Chandigarh, June 14 (IANS). The central government has strengthened its activities to realize the nature of one nation one election. The committee that exists on this issue meets on Saturday with Punjab political parties. BJP leader Swarn Singh Channi described this meeting as very important. Retired IAS officer and BJP leader Swarn Singh Channi told the IANS news agency that this meeting is very important. Leaders of BJP, the Congress and AAM AADMI Party are present in the meeting. We want ‘one nation, one election’ to be implemented soon. Swarn Singh said that “one nation, one election” is needed for the country. It will save money and time. Due to regular elections, there is a code of conduct. It affects developmental work and stops the development of the country. The general public is also upset by repeated elections. In such a situation, everyone wants elections to be held only once. A leader of the Akali Dal said that if elections are held only once, it will harm the federal structure. To this, Swarn Singh said that “one nation, one election” will in no way harm the federal structure. This will strengthen the regional parties. Their money will also be saved. The committee led by former President Ram Nath Kovind has prepared a concept “one nation, one election”. During this time, the committee spoke to 47 political parties. 32 parties are in his favor. These parties believe that “one nation, one election” will be useful to save resources, maintain social coordination and increase the rate of economic development. The Minister of Legislation, Arjun Ram Meghwal, established the 129th Amendment Bill of the Constitution and the Union Amendment Bill, which is necessary to implement “one nation, one election”.
