Grimes Makes Public Plea to Keep Her Son Out of the Spotlight – ryan

Grimes is pleading with the public to keep her son, X Æ A-Xii — whom she shares with ex-boyfriend Elon Musk — out of the spotlight following the 4-year-old’s viral appearance at the White House.

In an interview with Time published on Monday, February 24, the 36-year-old Canadian singer (real name Claire Boucher) addressed the backlash she received earlier this month after posting via X about wanting to protect her son’s privacy following his widely publicized appearance in the Oval Office alongside his billionaire father and President Donald Trump.

“It was like, ‘Grimes slams,’ ‘Grimes speaks out.’ It’s like, OK, it was a reply,” the singer-songwriter told the outlet. “But I would really like people to stop posting images of my kid everywhere.”

Grimes noted that the 4-year-old is not old enough to consent to being famous, saying, “I think fame is something you should consent to.”

“Obviously, things will just be what they are,” she told the publication. “But I would really, really appreciate that. I can only ask, so I’m just asking.”

On Tuesday, February 11, X Æ A-Xii made headlines as he bounced around, talked, and even picked his nose while Musk spoke about an executive order Trump signed regarding his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

The SpaceX founder apologized to reporters in the room for his son’s silliness.

“Sorry for this. I thought my son might enjoy this, but he’s sticking his fingers in my ears and stuff, so it’s been hard to hear sometimes,” he confessed.

A user on X (formerly Twitter) responded to an unrelated post that Grimes had made, writing, “Lil X was very polite today! You raised him well. He was so cute when he told DJT ‘please forgive me, I need to pee.’”

Grimes responded on the social media platform, noting, “He should not be in public like this. I did not see this, thank u for alerting me. But I’m glad he was polite. Sigh.”

Grimes and the Tesla founder were romantically linked in 2018 and had an on-again-off-again relationship for years until 2022. Besides son X Æ A-Xii, the former couple also share a daughter, Exa Dark Sideræl, 3, and a son, Tau Techno Mechanicus, 2. Altogether, Musk has reportedly fathered 13 children, with author Ashley St. Clair most recently claiming she is the mother of his 13th child.
