Delhi police continued between 2006 and 2007 to find a body after the other, with whom the police received letters – a direct challenge: “Catch it, catch it!” This challenge shook the police in Delhi. This murder was not the work of a general criminal, but was the story of a serial killer who considered himself God. His name was – Chandrakant Jha, who people know the butcher of Delhi today. First sign: Phone calls and head chills started with an unknown phone call at the Hari Nagar police station. The caller said there was a body in a container outside the police station. When the head concepts reached the place, a container was really found – tightly tied. Once opened, a body with a head and a mysterious letter to which it was written: ‘cc’. Initially, the police found it a general murder, but when a newspaper printed a letter after a few days, in which the killer openly disputed the police, the case became a high-profile serial murder case. Penalties: In the letters received after anger, revenge and challenge of murder, the killer expressed his hatred against the police and also wrote that he was tortured by a main constable in the Tihar Jail. He also wrote that his goal is to ‘take revenge on the system’. One after another, police found another container on April 25, 2007 – this time near Tihar jail. The arms, legs, heads and private parts of the body were missing. Later, when the accused was caught, he said that he himself opened the container with the help of ordinary people. The third body was found on May 18, 2007 – when the same head cut, then the same letter. Chandrakant Jha said in the investigation that he drains pieces of his victims of his victims in various places throw-Shalimar Bagh, Tis Hazari Court, Yamuna and Kishanganj. Chandrakant Jha’s investigation into police took him to Azadpur Mandi, where a doctor told his identity. The doctor said he delivered the five daughters of Chandrakant. Based on this clue, Sundar Singh Yadav’s team arrested the accused. During interrogation due to the confession and murder, Chandrakant said he committed the first murder in 1988. The reason was injustice from the police and society. His way was heartbreaking – first friendship, adopted the victim like a brother and then saw the opportunity, he would strangle him. Later, the body would be thrown by pieces in different areas. Psychological analysis: According to criminologists, chandrakant was, according to the criminologist, a ‘God complex’ – he considers himself a God who gave justice. He also prepared his case by taking legal books from his lawyer. A camera was also found with him in which he took pictures of his victims. The sentence and now in February 2013 he was sentenced to two deaths and sentenced to three murders to life imprisonment. In 2016, his death sentence was converted into life imprisonment and in 2022 his parole was rejected. He is currently being filed in the Tihar jail. This story of ‘The Butcher of Delhi’ is not only the story of a serial killer, but is also a reflection of the aspect of the system, society and the police, where the birth of dissatisfaction in bloodshed changes.
