Project Sangam: Changed Happiness in Kalahandi, New Technology of Paddy Increased Yield -Kalahandi Farmers Double Income with Sri Farming under Vedanta Project

Under the Vedanta Aluminum Initiative Project Sangam, farmers have registered an increase in production and income by adopting the systemic intensive system (SRI) of Paddy. So far, more than 60 farmers have cultivated 64.2 hectares of land with this technology. Paddy yield: The first per acre was 18-20 quintal, which increased to 22.5-25 quintal (25% increase). Input costs: Reduced from 10-12 thousand rupees per acre to 7-9 thousand rupees (30%drop). Water skills: Improve up to 35%. Biological Practices: Insects have decreased and soil health improved. The company said it would be expanded to 210 hectares of land in this Kharif season and 120 farmers from 18 towns.
