Deepak Prakash of Jharkhand High Court has canceled Fir which is registered in high treason

Ranchi, September 19 (IANS). Deepak Prakash, MP of Rajya Sabha and former state president of Bharatiya Janata Party, received a great relief from the High Court in Jharkhand. In 2020, the Fir was canceled against him in several other divisions, including high treason at the Dumka Nagar police station of the state for the alleged statement of the demolition of the Hemant Soren government of Jharkhand. A Bank of Justice Anil Kumar Chaudhary passed the order on Friday after bringing an ominous petition by Deepak Prakash in the case. The suspension was at the Dumka meeting in the year 2020. Deepak Prakash was the president of Jharkhand Bharatiya Janata Party at the time. According to the allegation, during the election campaign in a conversation with the media in Dumka, he claimed that “many JMM MAs are in contact with the BJP and the Hemant Soren government of the state is being demolished within three months”. The political stir regarding this statement has been reinforced. The then Dumka District President of the Congress filed a written complaint against this statement from Deepak Prakash at the Nagar police station. On this basis, the case was recorded number 298/2020. The complaint claims that Deepak Prakash hatched a criminal conspiracy to overthrow the Hemant Soren government and made a provocative statement. The fir submitted on this complaint imposed sections of section 504 (deliberate insult), 506 (criminal intimidation), 120-B (criminal conspiracy) and 124-A (sedition) of the Indian Criminal Act against him. Deepak Prakash has filed an ominous petition in the Supreme Court in which he disputed the fir. Advocates Indrajit Sinha and Sagar Kumar set the side. He said in his argument in court that the MP’s statement was in the political context and that it could not be placed in the high treason or other crime category. -Ians SNC/DSC shares this story -tags
