The life dripping from rocks, Khusra Village exists on drops of water
Katni, April 21 (IANS). The imagination of life without water is difficult, but imagines, if every day begins with the struggle for water, how will life be? A town in the Catni district of Madhya Pradesh is still alive this pain. Every drop dripping from the rocks must be paid every breath. People here collect water from generations and collect water while fighting against the war war, and the situation is so bad that people stay away to get married their daughters here. Only 65 km from the Katni district, Khusra Village in the Rithi district of Bahoriband, where life has been looking for water for centuries. There is a gap in the middle of town, where the residents extinguish their thirst by rescuing drops from the rocks. Every morning, the women and children of the village go to that dangerous ditch on the palm. Heavy tools on the head, thorns in the feet and just one hope in the eyes- a few drops of water. The elderly woman says that when I got to this town fifty years ago, the same situation was there and that nothing changed today. The children grew up, but this water problem is the same. This water tragedy has now become the identity of the Khusra village. The elders of the town say that they have seen their loved ones bring water since childhood. The dreams of youth died in this thirst. Many youths are still unmarried, because no father wants to give his daughter in a village where there is no water. The elderly villagers Ganesh Singh said: “Leaders come at the time of the election, but no one works. There is nothing without water or farming or marriage. The girl says that if there is no water, then the daughter will not give.” Things get worse during the summer. Looking for water, the residents should go through the forest, where wild animals like tigers and leopards also drink water. Many times, women, who see animals, are saving their lives by climbing the mountain and then starting the same battle. Aarti, a girl from town, says: “I stand in line to get water from four in the morning, now the number has come. I filled water for ten years, but nothing has changed. That’s why the studies were missed.” Another elderly residents say there is a shortage of water. There is no farming, children cannot go to school. Live as soon as possible. Line for one or two hours, then there is available somewhere. -Ians DSC/CBT
