Delhi Medical Association welcomes 'Healthy Women's Family Campaign'
New -Delhi, September 16 (IANS). The Delhi Medical Association (DMA) congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on the inauguration of a healthy female campaign for women on September 17. The DMA appreciated this visionary program and ensured the full cooperation to make it successful. Dr. DMA president Girish Tyagi said a press conference that this campaign is an important step in promoting the health of women and children. “Clean environment reduces the spread of disease, strengthens immunity and encourages especially healthy to stay healthy for women and children,” he said. To pursue this thinking, the DMA announced to start Seva from September 17 to October 2. The campaign starts at 06:00 at Maulana Azad Medical College with a neatness drive, after which free health camps and public awareness programs will be arranged in Delhi. Dr. Tyagi informed that 13 branches of DMA will actively participate in this campaign. These branches will organize different programs to promote preventative health care, nutrition and overall welfare of women and children. The DMA is in regular contact with the government and will soon share the detailed program list. He said: “More than 20,000 members are ready to contribute in every possible way to achieve the goals of this campaign.” Secretary of State of DMA Dr. Satish Lamba informed that all the 13 branches of DMA, during the prime minister’s birthday, were instructed to organize health camps in their respective branches. These camps will include high blood pressure, diabetes, mouth and cervical cancer, anemia, tuberculosis, prenatal (ANC) examination and other specialist services. Dr Lamba said: “Our goal is to prioritize women’s health and lay the foundation of healthy families in society.” The DMA actively participated in various community service projects of the government of India and the government of Delhi and expressed the full dedication to make this campaign a success.
