New Delhi: The Delhi Cabinet approved the establishment of the Main Minister Development Fund (CMDF) with a fund of Rs 1,400 crore for FY 2025-26 to promote the city’s infrastructure and public facilities. A senior official said the planning department issued detailed guidelines for the use of CM Development Fund. According to an official document, these works of the main minister’s development fund will be done, and the development work and community projects for local needs such as Dhobighat construction, schools, hospitals, slums in toilets, public parks and sports complexes will be given according to an official document. Other such works and public facilities such as water cooler, community hall, street lights will also be built and renewed from this fund. It will also finance civil infrastructure projects such as drains, sewerage treatment plants, roads, sidewalks, bicycle tracks. Based on the needs and instructions, the document will prepare the proposal that the relevant departments will draw up a proposal based on the requirements and instructions of the main minister. After proper investigation into all such proposals, the planning department will submit them for the approval of the Chief Minister. After approving the chief minister, the planning department will ask the relevant departments to prepare estimates and appoint the execution agency. After investigating the estimates, the planning department will issue administrative approval and approval of expenses to the proposed development projects. Projects worth 10 crore or more are the audit of all projects that cost Rs 10 crore or more will also be carried out by the department concerned, and a maximum of one percent project costs can be reserved for this. The project administrators will ensure that there is a dedicated budget for maintaining and operating projects that will not be provided by CMDF.
