Dungri Bandh in viral footage, thundering statement by Guda of Mahapanchayat, direct challenge to the government

Under the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP), villagers constantly raise their voice against the proposed Dungri Dam on the border of Sawai Madhopur and Karauli districts. In this regard, a Mahapanchayat was arranged in Chakeri Village on Sunday. Thousands of villagers from the villages of the underwater area of the Dungri Dam participated. During the meeting, former Mla Rajendra Gudha said the government would have to cancel the Dungri Dam. Dungri dam needs to be canceled: Gudha said projects are made for the public, but this government has no experience, thereby there are works that harm the public. Gudha said that the Dungri Dam should not be built under any circumstances. He said that although your representatives are not with you today, they must amount to your unit. Gudha said Kirori Lal Mena, if not today, will be forced to stand with you. If all of you continue to fight, the government will have to bow down and cancel the Dungri Dam. This is the concern of the residents: During the Mahapanchayat, the residents expressed concern that the construction of the Dungri Dam would plunge the country, forests and towns of 76 towns in Sawai Madhopur and Karauli districts. Villagers say that according to an estimate 76 towns will be displaced by the construction of the Dungri Dam, while approximately 300 towns will be displaced after the dam is completed. The residents claim that the representatives of the people, including the central and state government, deceive the residents in the name of development. First use for local needs: Villagers claim that the government is planning to plan homeless locals in the name of Dungri Dam and plant the dam water in industrial projects rather than local needs. It is not a government development, but a major attack on the country and identity of the residents of the region. Villagers demand that the Dungri Dam project be canceled and that local resources should be used mainly for local needs. During the Mahapanchayat, residents said that if the government did not cancel the proposed Dungri Dam, despite the demonstrations of the residents, the rural governments are ready to fight a tax or fight with the government.
