Demand action against fake voters, not protest against elections: Sanjay Raut
Mumbai, October 20 (IANS). Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Monday demanded strict action against fake voters in Maharashtra. He also explained that we never contested the elections. We have always demanded that the infiltrators should be shown the way out first. After this, the election process should begin. Speaking to journalists, he said that we have raised the issue of fake voters with the Election Commission and demanded strict action against them, only then it will be better if talks on the election process start. He said it certainly cannot be denied that fake voters have become a matter of concern at present. In such a situation, our leaders from all parties have decided that we will go to the Election Commission on November 1 and inform them about fake voters. We will tell the Election Commission that the fake voters have somehow united in the present time and are bent on curbing the principles of democracy. The Shiv Sena (UBT) leader explained that we have never contested the elections. We want elections to be held in a democratic system, that is also necessary, but our demand is that the current inconsistencies in the voter list should be removed because it would be unfair to conduct the election process with an inconsistent voter list. He said our simple question is how you can hold elections in the presence of fake voters. Let me explain again that we never opposed the elections. We have always opposed fake voters because I do not hesitate to say that these people want to win elections with the help of fake voters, but we will not allow that to happen. Moreover, he also mentioned the statement of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, in which he said that our government will take a tough stand against the infiltrators and show them the way out. In view of his statement, I demand from him that more than one million fake voters have entered Maharashtra. My demand from them is that all these voters should be shown the way out. Only after this the election process should start here. –IANS SHK/DSC Share this story Tags
