Deputy Head of Commission XI Dpr about TKD cuts: Regional heads are patient first

Jakarta – Deputy Chairman of Commission XI DPR, Fauzi Amro, responded to the protest against cuts to regional transfers (TKD). He asked regional heads to be patient regarding government policies in the 2026 state income and expenditure budget (APBN). “We ask regional heads to be patient first, governors, regents, deputy regents to be patient first, because our fiscal condition, the state of our government revenue, is not yet optimal,” Fauzi told journalists on Saturday (11/10/2025). He then said that if government revenue is maximized, the finance minister would help Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa so that TKD at least did not decrease. Browse to continue with the content “and the finance minister has promised that if our government revenue is maximized, he will help regional friends, at least the TKD will not decline,” Fauzi said. Fauzi explained that the reason for reducing TKD was because government revenue figures did not increase significantly. Because there are new government programs. “Our government spending is increasing, especially there are several of Pak Prabowo’s excellent programs that need great budgets, such as MBG, food downstream, energy downstream,” he explained. However, he said the TKD cuts were not the reason why regional heads did not realize their campaign promises. Regional heads, he continued, could benefit from the potential to increase the original income (road) of the region as well as taxes and levies. “The problem is to say that the promises of the campaign are not realized. Yes, in my opinion, what makes the promises, making it happen. Don’t make promises that give uncertain hope,” Fauzi said. With this, Fauzi emphasized the promises of regional heads that often made no sense if their campaign endeavored. According to him, regional heads must understand the fiscal and financial circumstances of their region before acting for office. “If people want to become candidates, these promises do not make sense sometimes. So we should not have candidates for regents, governors, regional heads also to understand the fiscal or financial conditions of their respective regions. What we discuss must therefore be appropriate,” he concluded. Previously, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa was visited by regional heads who are members of the Association of Indonesian Provincial Government (Appsi). It was recorded that 18 governors were personally present, 15 regions were represented and 5 regions were not present. The arrival of these regional heads is to reject the cuts in transfers to regions (TKD) conducted by the Ministry of Finance in 2026. It is alleged that these cuts are very troublesome. Purbaya was also of the opinion that anger was normal because the given budget was smaller. It’s just that he asked the regional government to first improve his spending performance that has so far not been considered well. “It all depends on the future of the regional head. I am in the new government, their image is not very good at the eyes of the leaders above. If they can improve the image, there is no objection,” Purbaya said at the Ministry of Finance, Central Jakarta, as reported by DetikFinance, Tuesday (7/10). “If they want to develop the area, it must have been good from the beginning, the budget should not be lost here and there. One of the concerns is that there is a lot of mist,” he added. The TKD in the 2026 income and expenditure budget (APBN) was decided on IDR 693 trillion. This amount was increased from the previous IDR 650 trillion, but is still lower than the 2025 award of IDR 919.9 trillion. (Ond/ISA)
