Deputy head of the MPR encourages scientific work to offer wide benefits
Jakarta – Deputy Chairman of the MPR RI, Lestari Moerdijat, encouraged the ability to write good scientific papers, not only to meet academic requirements. However, the ability to write scientific papers must be able to facilitate the delivery of knowledge that is useful to the wider community. This was expressed by him during the 2025 Community Research and Innovation User Capacity Building Event themed Scientific Writing Training held today by the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) in Semarang, Central Java. Present at the event was, among others, the Chief Expert Researcher at the Population Research Centre, prof. Galuh Syahbana Indraprahasta, chairman of the UI Central Java Alumni Association Cahyo Seftyono, and researchers from a number of universities in Central Java. In addition, this training also teaches how to publish scientific works in existing scientific journals,” said Lestari,021/502, Thursday,1/502. He revealed that some time ago the public was shocked by the widespread news that academics were publishing their scientific works in predatory journals to meet academic requirements. According to him, various efforts to encourage researchers and academics to be able to publish their scientific work in well-accredited journals should be carried out consistently. He hopes that the training initiated by BRIN will be able to produce excellent researchers who have the ability to write scientific papers and are able to transform science to the wider community. “Thus, the scientific work produced can be the basis for the birth of a useful policy,” he concluded.
