Despite GST cuts, Awin Dairy did not lower the prices of products, but protests in Tamil Nadu protested
Madurai, September 24 (IANS). Despite the improvement in GST tariffs, state politics was heated due to the reduction of prices by Tamil Nadu Government Dairy Company Awin. People also began to oppose the company’s decision. A person in Madurai in Tamil Nadu told Ians that the Avin Dairy Company gave release at festivals only on some items such as ghee, cheese and butter. He said the central government announced at 22nd GST reform, which reduced the prices of essential goods, including milk. Other countries such as Karnataka have already lowered the milk prices of brands such as Nandini and Arogya after GST cuts. Private dairy businesses in Tamil Nadu also reduced the prices of butter, Ghee and other dairy products. He asked why the Tamil Nadu government did not lower the prices of Avin dairy? He expressed his concern that the exemptions are only temporary festive offers, creating doubt that the government is trying to utilize this situation. He also said it is extremely condemnable that the Tamil Nadu government has not lowered the price of milk for children. He further questioned that what is the problem with the Tamil Nadu government in the implementation of the cut by declaring the cuts by the central government? The public demands that GST reduce on milk products should be implemented immediately for children. He finally said that if prices are not reduced, they will file a complaint with the GST council. Explain that GST, after the GST tariffs of the central government have been improved, were reduced to zero on milk, front pack and label chennie or cheese, while GST was reduced to dairy products such as Ghee and butter from 12 percent to 5 percent. -Ians dch/ share these story tags
