New -delhi, October 11 (IANS). Dot has taken a historical step to make financial compliance digital and transparent through ‘Saras’ (Saras system for the assessment of LF income and SUC). This modular, adaptable and scalable system, implemented from FY 2020-21, plays an important role in simplification, standardization and paperless paying license fees (LF), spectrum consumption costs (SUC) and other financial processes in the telecommunications sector. Under the supervision of the Office of the Controller General of Communication Accounts (CGCA), the system strengthens India’s digital management. ‘Saras’ has several key features, including paperless facility for payments such as LF, SUC, Spectrum Auction, CAF, EMR fine and test money. In addition, when it comes to digital documentation, it contains a complete digital presentation of states of income and licensing fees, annual audited documents and financial statements on a quarterly basis. Online -Assessment includes online access to demand notifications for LF, SUC and other fees and grievances to include deduction extraction, bank guarantee monitoring and the solution of the online appeal process. More than 67,500 payment transactions worth Rs 3.18 Lakh Crore have taken place since the start of ‘SARS’. It has streamlined the filing process of gross income (gr) of Rs 16.1 lakh crore and the gross income (AGR) of Rs 12.2 Lakh Crore. This achievement is the result of the tireless efforts of 28 main controller of communication accounts/controller of communication accounts (main CCA/CCA) offices across the country. These offices favored more than 500 licensees through outreach programs and facilitation centers, which increased compliance and participation. “Saras has made telecommunications financial processes transparent and efficient. It not only saves time and resources, but also promotes a corruption -free ecosystem,” Deputy CGCA Gunjan Bharti Mishra told Ians. He said this system is a game changer to assess and restore the outstanding amount in time. ‘Saras’ plays an important role in the realization of India’s ‘developed Indian’ vision. This system still helps the telecommunications sector the backbone of economic growth and innovation. This model of digital management not only simplified processes, but also improved confidence and accountability. While India is moving to a digital economy, initiatives such as ‘Saras’ also become an inspiration to other sectors. –Is SCH/DSC Share This Story Tags
