Tennis Players Share Their Top Beauty Products (Exclusive) – ryan
Here’s one matchup that was a long time coming: The WTA and Gillette Venus have partnered to empower women to feel comfortable in their skin.
The brand upgraded some of its most beloved tools just in time for another major announcement: it’s now the official razor of the tennis organization.
For tennis aces Alycia Parks, Peyton Stearns and Taylor Townsendit’s a beauty move their more than happy to see come into fruition.
“I like to be smooth on the court and it gives me that feel, explains Parks, who adds that hopes the partnership reaches younger girls “who might be little shy about having hair to let them know it’s okay to shave and give them confidence.”
Stearns calls the partnership “a step in the right direction.”
“I think it’s going to help women’s tennis in a way of (there being) a brand that’s for females (supporting them).”
Stearns adds, “Their products are amazing, especially for me as a tennis player. I’m constantly traveling, so to have a staple (in the locker rooms) is amazing. It means when I’m on court, I can perform at my best and not have to worry about that.”
Meanwhile, Townsend has fond memories of Gillette Venus that date back to childhood. “I do remember always hearing the song,” she says singing, “I’m your Venus!”
Now, after 12 years on tour, she’s “excited” to witness “the evolution of partnerships with the WTA.”
“I think that it’s really cool because Gillette Venus is interested in the athletes and the storytelling. And with the WTA, we haven’t really had times where we’ve had beauty brands be official partners. So I think that it’s a start of something really special, because we’re women that are doing really amazing things all around the world.
Ahead, the athletes share their favorite products on and off the court.

Age when she first picked up a racquet: “7. My sister and I were in elementary school and we got all A’s and B’s so my parents took us to the toy store. We were there for maybe a hour and I didn’t know what to get, so my mom was like, ‘You have five minutes to find something or I’m leaving!” Then we looked down and there was a set of two rackets and three balls. We had a tennis court in the neighborhood, so she took us out there and we just rallied and that’s how (I got into tennis).”
Age when she got into beauty: “20. I care about how I look on the court, but not for other people, for me. If I look good, I play good. It just gives me an extra boost (to have a routine). I’m like, ‘Okay, I actually feel like I’m her today,’ and then I walk out.”
No. 1 2025 tennis goal: “To just be very positive. Doesn’t matter what’s going on around me, but to be positive and in tennis, to have my ranking keep getting higher, I want to break my highest ranking, which was top 40, this year. Top 20 if possible. And keep growing on and off the court.”

Age when she first picked up a racquet: “8 or 9. I was actually in our neighbor’s backyard and we were all just taking balls with a whiffle bat. I kept hitting it over their house, and the mom was like, ‘Wow, she has a live arm. You should put her in softball … or what about tennis? They have really cute outfits.’ And my mom’s like, ‘Oh, I’m sold. She’s going into that.’
No. 1 beauty treatment: “I always love a good facial. You can just escape the tennis world and relax. I find it way different than a massage because you kind of get physiotherapy, which isn’t the most amazing thing. It’s kind of painful. So it’s nice to go in and get a facial and just really relax and step out and you’re just rejuvenated.”
No. 1 2025 tennis goal: “I don’t like setting too many ranking goals, but a broad goal for me is to end the year in the top 20. I like setting performance goals, so getting a serve in the better place, just getting fitter, and those kind of things are just little stepping stones that I can control because you can’t control if you win or lose.”

Age when she first picked up a racquet: “4. It’s always been a passion, and it really became something that saved me when my parents were going through their separation. It was my happy place and no one bothered me. No one messed with me. They’d leave me out there for six hours at a time and I’d just be chilling.”
Intensity of your beauty routine on a scale of 1-10: 5. I used to do more, but now I’ve kind of mellowed out. But, something that I do more often than not is an everything shower. Before my first match of a tournament I go head to toe: wash my hair, exfoliate, shave my entire body and moisturize.”
No 1. 2025 tennis goal: To win the US Open singles and doubles — it’s my manifestation.

“Part of the reason why I stopped shaving in my pubic area was because I would constantly get razor bumps and it was super irritating.
