Disastrous and unconstitutional to cancel the incentive scheme of the industry: Shubhendu Adhikari
Kolkata, September 18 (IANS). The leader of the opposition in the Western Bengal Legislative Assembly Shubhendu Adhikari said on Wednesday that the decision to beat Calcutta High Court by a group of industrialists against the state government’s decision to cancel the state incentive scheme in the state was inevitable. The said scheme, which was erected by the state government to encourage the former chief minister of West Bengal, was launched by the Eastern Link leading government in the financial year 2001-02 under the leadership of the late Buddhadev Bhattacharya and the main purpose of the scheme was to encourage industrial investments in the state. In March this year, however, the state government approved a bill in the Government Meeting, which is called the incentive schemes and obligations in the nature of the award and encouragement of Western Bengals, 2025, which withdraws the incentives given to the existing industries in the state. Earlier this week, a group of industrialists approached the Calcutta High Court against the decision to cancel the incentives. He believed that the decision of the state government was unconstitutional. The Calcutta High Court will hear all the petitions filed by various industrialists in November. The leader of the opposition on Wednesday called the ruling disastrous and unconstitutional. The leader of the opposition Shubhendu Adhikari said: “Despite strong opposition from BJP MLAs, the bill approved in March 2025 due to the majority of the Trinamol congress. The ego of the Trinamol congress dominated and abolished the incentives of all industries.” He claimed that industrialists rectified the Calcutta High Court in this case. He further said that it is a well-planned mistake to drive away the remaining industries of West Bengal. The government of Mamta Banerjee turns our state into an industrial cemetery. Believe businesses that trust Western Bengals and have created work for our people. The Trinamool Congress scares investors and ensures that our youth remain unemployed. It is not a rule, but a situation like an economic chaotic. -Ians Akks/SCH Share this Story Tags
