Ankur Aggarwal, Jagran Dehradun. The special aid desk started in the collector seems to be a blessing to the helpless, deprived, elderly and women wandering door to door after the case is not registered, even after visiting the police station. The complaints of cases that were not registered during the Janata Darbar took seriously, and district magistrate Savin Bansal decided to draw up an aid desk. Through this auxiliary counter, which started in August, online sparrels (e-firs) have been filed in different police stations on 70 complaints within two months. The District Administration claims that Dehradun is the first district in the entire state to set up a ‘special aid desk’ in terms of section 173 of the Indian Civil Security Code (BNSS) for the protection of the rights and interests of the deprived divisions, the helpless, elderly and women. According to the district administration, the main purpose of Article 173 is to facilitate the process of registering information on crimes, which includes the facility of e-fir, the protection of sensitive victims, videoography and free copy of the information. According to this section, a fir can be submitted in any police station. To make the process of submitting information accessible with the purpose of easy and fair process, cases are registered with the ordinary people in Doon via the online desk from August.
