Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya to lead the 45th edition of Fit India Sunday on Cycle

New Delhi, October 24 (IANS). The 45th edition of ‘Fit India Sunday on Cycle’ will be held on Sunday (October 26) in more than 50,000 gyms across the country. Dr. Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS) Mansukh Mandaviya will lead the initiative in New Delhi. In New Delhi, the event will be held at the prestigious Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, where the sports minister will be accompanied by eminent players. ‘Fit India Sunday on Cycle’ will be organized in association with gym chains like Cult Fit, Fitspire, Gold Gym, Fitness First. More than 50,000 people from more than 6,000 locations are expected to participate. Dr. Mandaviya launched the ‘Fit India Sunday on Cycle’ campaign in December 2024 and it gradually turned into a nationwide mass movement with the motto of ‘solving pollution’ and ‘fighting obesity’. The campaign also aims to celebrate Swadeshi with pride, thereby inspiring every Indian to move towards a self-reliant India. The Sports Minister said, “I am very happy to see ‘Sunday on Cycle’ growing into a mass movement. Having a healthy and fit citizen is the pre-requisite for a prosperous and developed nation. Through the Fit India campaign, we want to create awareness among the citizens for ‘Aadha Ghanta Roz, Dose of Fitness’. I would like to reiterate that every cycling on a Indian bike is the best to stay. Sundays and maintain their fitness level I urge you to keep it.” ‘Fit India Sunday on Cycle’ is organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in association with Cycling Federation of India, Yogasana Bharat and MY Bharat. This cycling campaign is being organized simultaneously at SAI Regional Centres, National Centers of Excellence, SAI Training Centres, Khelo India State Centers of Excellence, Khelo India Centers and NaMo Fit India Cycling Clubs of various age groups, besides all state capitals and Union Territory. –IANS PAK/ Share this story Tags
