Drug smuggling was done by making a secret cabin in the truck, 441 kg ganja worth Rs 2.25 crore recovered in Simdega - simdega 225 crore ganja seized from truck with hidden compartment

Acting on secret information, the NCB (Narcotics Control Bureau) Ranchi Zonal Unit and Simdega Police jointly took a major action and recovered a huge consignment of illegal drug Ganja. There was information that ganja is being smuggled from Rourkela (Odisha) through Simdega route by hiding it in a truck. Taking immediate action on this, the truck was stopped near Sahu petrol pump in Chhagribandha of Kolebira police station area. During the search, a total of 441 kg of ganja was found in 84 packages from a specially created hidden cabin in the truck. The estimated market value of the recovered ganja is said to be around Rs 2.25 crore. Truck driver Naseem (father – Kamruddin), village Lafuri, police station Punhana, district – Nuhu (Haryana) was arrested from the spot and sent to judicial custody. The truck was also seized. This joint operation was led by Simdega Superintendent of Police (SP) M. Arshi and NCB Jharkhand-Bihar Zonal Director Abhishek Anand. Simdega SP M. Arshi said that the Simdega police is constantly taking strict action against illegal drug smuggling. Special surveillance has been increased on the borders of the district so that drug trafficking can be completely stopped. NCB Jharkhand-Bihar zonal director Abhishek Anand said that this action dealt a major blow to the smuggling network. NCB and local police are working together to identify other members and suppliers associated with this gang. Officials said that this success is a major achievement in the ongoing campaign against illegal drug trade and such actions will be continued in the future as well.
