DVI team reveals obstacles in identifying remnants of all Khoziny Islamic boarding school victims

Jakarta -The disaster’s DVI team (DVI) revealed the obstacles in revealing the identity of the bodies of the victims of the collapse of the Al Khoziny Islamic boarding school in Sidoarjo, East Java. There are currently 11 more body bags whose identity has not been identified. “In the last update we checked the body bags again and it appeared that there were 11 body bags in which several body parts were still there,” the head of East Java Regional Police Police Dokkes, commissioner M. Khusnan, reported at a press conference, Sunday (12/10/2025). Browse to continue with the content according to Khusnan, his party is still relying on the results of the DNA test, but has not found any clarity yet. Khusnan acknowledged that there were problems during the DNA test, one of which was that no special signs were found on the body parts. “Identification is difficult because the position is incomplete and there are no special signs on the existing body parts; we can only rely on DNA, there are two days later than the big body, there are some who do not match, it just depends on DNA,” he said. However, Khusnan was reluctant to speculate and explain in detail when all the DNA results would be available. He hopes that the DNA results will come out as soon as possible to complete the identification of all the bodies. “It’s still an identification process, we hope the results will come out soon because it takes time, unlike the first day, second and third, so we hope we can find out whose family the victim (who has not been identified yet),” he added.
