ECI delegation has reached Patna to review Bihar election preparations
Patna, October 3 (IANS). The election date of the meeting can be announced in Bihar on any day. Earlier, the India Electoral Commission strengthened the preparations for the election in the meeting. Meanwhile, the delegation of the Electoral Commission has reached Patna, the capital of Bihar. The India Electoral Commission posted on the social media platform ‘X’, saying that the ECI delegation led by CEC Gyanesh Kumar and EC Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and dr. Vivek Joshi reached Patna on Friday to review the preparations for the upcoming Bihar elections. At the same time, the Electoral Commission had earlier arranged a briefing for general, police and expenditure supervisors to be deployed as central observers for the upcoming general election of the Bihar Legislative Assembly and through elections in some countries. The meeting was attended by 425 officers, including 287 IAS officials, 58 IPS officials and 80 IRS, IRAs, ICAs and other services officers. The information meeting was held in Iidem, New Delhi. Main Electoral Commissioner (CEC) Dnyanesh Kumar has the central supervisors along with the Electoral Commissioner Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and dr. Vivek Joshi notified. Dnyanesh Kumar, while addressing the observers, described him as the light of democracy. Central observers in the form of eye and ears of the commission were asked to familiarize all election laws, rules and guidelines, provide direct regional information and ensure strict and equitable compliance. Observers were instructed to be fully available to political parties, candidates and voters for correcting complaints. Observers were also instructed to visit polling stations and secure the implementation of recent initiatives by the Commission for the ease of voters. The commission appoints central observers to assist the commission in executing independent and fair elections under the full powers presented by Article 324 of the Constitution and Article 20B of the Representation of the Public Representation Act, 1951.
