Ed attached real estate worth 2.20 crore in government's land fraud in dehradun
Dehradun, October 4 (IANS). The dehradun sub-Regional Office of the Directorate for Enforcement (ED) conducted an action against Sudhir Windlas and others under the Money Wauning Act (PMLA), 2002 on October 1. In this action, immovable property worth about Rs 2.20 crore was temporarily attached. This property is included in the name of Gopal Goenka. The action was done after the investigation was conducted on the basis of various FIRs (FIRs) submitted by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Dehradun. The CBI Fir has serious allegations of illegal possession and exceeding by other persons on government land with the connection of government officials’ revenue. The ED investigation revealed that Gopal Goenka and his other colleagues sold government land in the Johri village Dehradun with a fraud of about 2 hectares. He, together with the revenue division officials, made a mess in the records of the government’s land, in which changes were made to the binding, Khatauni and measles documents. The actual area of the country was wrongly exaggerated in the records, which made it possible for this sale. This investigation also revealed that Gopal Goenka had earned a large amount of money illegally from this illegally sold government land. This amount was used to buy more immovable properties, which led to a large case of money laundering. The ED attached the aforementioned real estate on October 1 under the part of the PMLA. The investigation is still underway and there is a possibility of many major revelations. The maintenance directorate has made it clear that it is constantly careful to prevent such illegal activities and take strict steps against corruption. At the same time, the public was also requested to inform the authorities about such disorders so that the government’s property could be protected. -Ians VKU/DSC shares this story Tags
