Livemint Updated16 Aug 2025, 09:00 AM, the maintenance directorate was sought on Saturday for the premises linked to Tamil Nadu minister and DMK leader I Periyasamy and his family as part of an investigation into money laundering, reports Ani who quoted officials. According to the ANI, his MLA son, IP Senthil Kumar, is also searched. The action is being done in accordance with the provisions of the Money Laundry Prevention Act (PMLA), they said. Periyasamy, 72, is the Minister of Rural Development, Panchayats and Panchayat unions. (This is a developing story)
