Effect of code of conduct: Liquor worth Rs 2341 lakh and drugs worth Rs 1688 lakh recovered in Patna, 753 people arrested – Patna liquor and drugs worth lakhs seized hundreds arrested

Since the model code of conduct came into effect on October 6 till Sunday evening, various agencies of the central and state governments have seized Rs 419.9 lakh in cash. In this, an amount of more than one crore was seized from Gopalganj on Saturday. Domestic and foreign liquor worth Rs 2341 lakh, drugs and intoxicants worth Rs 1688.4 lakh, precious metals worth Rs 550.9 lakh, freebies and other items worth Rs 1413 lakh were seized. Rs 6413 lakh in cash and other materials have been seized till now. According to the Election Commission, the District Administration, Police, Excise Department, Income Tax Department, Narcotics Bureau, Customs and Flying Squad teams are constantly conducting joint operations to keep the election process fair and transparent in the state. 753 people were arrested under NSA, PITNDPS and other acts. 13 thousand 587 non-bailable warrants were executed. Monitoring is done from 1036 check posts in the state. According to the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, the model code of conduct is in force in the state, and extensive monitoring and intensive investigative operations are being carried out by the enforcement agencies in the state. Action is being taken with the aim of prohibiting the distribution of cash, liquor, drugs, valuables and other gifts to attract voters. On Sunday, Rs 108.8 lakh cash, liquor worth Rs 68.8 lakh, drugs and intoxicants worth Rs 4.1 lakh, precious metals worth Rs 47.1 lakh, freebies worth Rs 215 lakh and other items were seized. A total of Rs 443.6 lakh in cash and material was seized on Sunday.
