Employees of toll at two locations on the Agra-Lucknow expressway, one in Agra and the other in Lucknow, boycotted work on Saturday evening after getting less bonus on Diwali. While boycotting work at Lucknow toll from 10 to 12 midnight, they raised the bomb barricade of the toll. When the company officials took control of the situation there, the work boycott started from 12 o’clock in the night at Fatehabad Toll here. The company took over the contract from March 2025. As soon as the information about giving a bonus of Rs 1100 on Diwali came to light, the toll plaza employees got angry. Work at Lucknow toll has been boycotted from 10 pm on Saturday night. As a result of the lifting of the boom, vehicles going to Agra started passing without toll. The officers took control of the situation by talking to the employees. Employees returned to work at noon. On getting information about the boycott of work, the employees of Fatehabad Toll Plaza stopped working and opened the toll booths. Employees said that the company gave a bonus of Rs 5,000 last year. This time they get cheated. As soon as the information about toll free was received, the officials were contacted, but the matter did not work out. Employees working at other toll plazas were called in to handle the arrangements, but they were not allowed to work with the local employees. On Sunday morning, the company’s project manager Krishna Jurail assured the employees of a 10 percent salary increase. After this, the employees returned to work at 10:00 on Sunday. It is said that more than five thousand vehicles coming from Lucknow passed without toll. Project manager Jurail said that the Fastag scanner worked after the beam was removed. Due to high speed, Fastags of many vehicles were not read. Vehicles offering cash payment passed free. Information is collected on how many vehicles passed freely. One-way toll is Rs 665. On the highway, a one-way toll from Agra to Lucknow is Rs 665. Toll tax is deducted at the exit point. Toll tax for vehicles coming from Lucknow to Agra will be deducted at Agra, while toll for vehicles going from Agra to Lucknow will be deducted at Lucknow Toll Plaza.
