Ghostly mountains of Antarctica
The Trending Antarctica Kebhutia Mountain is hidden under the ice of Antarctica, a large mountain range called Gamburtsev Mountain Range. These mountains are buried under a sheet of about 5 km thick. Due to not appearing, they are also called Ghost Mountain, that is, haunting mountains. No one was aware of these large mountains hidden in Antarctica until the 1950s. After Russian scientists showed unusual changes in gravity in Antarctica, it found that the entire mountain range was hidden under snow. The height of the Gamburtsev mountain range is about 15,000 feet, that is, the Alps of Europe higher than the mountain. This mountain range extends to about 3000 km under snow, making it one of the most mysterious hills in the world. According to scientists, the mountain range was formed 1.1 to 1.8 billion years ago, when the Earth’s tectonic plates collided and the eastern Antarctic was formed. About 3.4 million years ago, Antarctica was completely covered with snow. Since then, the snow of this region has not melted. This is why these mountains are completely safe. Scientists used an air recording and radar imaging technology to see them, which showed the mountain range such as Himalayas and Alps on the 3D photos. Scientists believe that there can be great lakes under snow around these mountains, where the microbial life can exist. If proven, it would mean that the remains of ancient life can also be found in this region. The ice of Antarctica is slowly melting due to global warming. In the future, these hills can be seen on the surface. Their riddles can reveal the curtain. Click here Life & Style Click for more stories Click here
