Eva Victor Joins ‘Behemoth!’ Opposite Pedro Pascal & David Harbour

EXCLUSIVE: Eva Victor (Sorry, Baby) has closed a deal to join Pedro Pascal and David Harbor in Behemoth!the Searchlight film from Andor’s Tony Gilroy.

Character details are under wraps, as is the film’s logline, although Gilroy has said in interviews that the film revolves around a cellist.

Gilroy is directing from his own script and producing the film alongside Sanne Wohlenberg and John Gilroy (Andor), with principal photography starting in Los Angeles later this month. SVP of Production Rayne Roberts and Creative Executive Cameron Chidsey are overseeing for Searchlight Pictures, reporting to Heads of Production and Development DanTram Nguyen and Katie Goodson-Thomas.

Victor is coming off her feature directorial debut with Sorry, Babya dramedy she wrote, where she starred alongside Naomi Ackie and Lucas Hedges. Produced by Barry Jenkins’ Pastel, the film premiered to critical acclaim at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award, with the jury praising its “stunning honesty (and) moving sense of humor.”

A24 acquired the film out of the festival in what was reportedly an $8 million deal, unveiling it in limited release on June 27, with ongoing expansion on July 18. In his review out of Sundance, DeadlineS ‘ Pete Hammond said the flick was “one of the most assured and heartfelt films not only of this festival, but also one of the most assured and heartfelt films I have seen in a very long time.”

Prior to that Sorry, BabyVictor cut her teeth in the comedy sphere, achieving success with myriad viral videos. They have written for The New Yorker and Reductress, serving as an associate editor and staff writer at the latter, and made videos for Comedy Central. As an actor, they have appeared in several other roles, most notably as Rian in the final three seasons of Showtime’s Billions.
