Ghatshila, October 17 (IANS). Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has claimed that Jharkhand Mukti Morcha candidates in the by-election to be held on the Ghatshila seat of the state will win with double the margin of votes as compared to the previous elections. Addressing a huge public meeting organized at Dahigora Circus Ground in Ghatsila on Friday after the nomination of party candidate Somesh Soren, the chief minister said, “Our opposition will field dozens of chief ministers in the by-election campaign, but I want to tell them that even if they field two dozen chief ministers, even then the chief minister of Jharkhand will be above them be.” Hemant Soren said, “The Chief Minister of Jharkhand is not me but the people of Jharkhand. Their strength is my strength. Because of this strength and faith, I am confident of the historic victory of the JMM candidate.” Soren said that he fought sectarian forces only with the power of the people. He said that the opposition leaders will use verbal fire during the election campaign but we will give them such an answer that they will go far from where they came from. Discussing the incident of him going to jail last year, Soren said that last time the opposition hatched a conspiracy and sent him in, but the public’s trust made him stronger again. Addressing the public meeting, State Congress President Keshav Mahato Kamlesh said that late Ramdas Soren had done remarkable work in the field of education and development during his tenure. To give impetus to his work, India Alliance introduced his son. He said if the workers stand firm at their respective stalls, then victory is certain. Appealing to the people, JMM candidate Somesh Soren said, “Just like you gave your blessings to my Baba, bless me in this by-election too. I promise that I will fulfill Baba’s unfulfilled dreams.” He said that his father wanted this land of Vibhuti Bhushan Bandyopadhyay to become a center of education, and that he was contesting elections to realize the same dream.
