"Lucid" stocks jump 62% to Uber's investment in it

Uber Technologies has announced a partnership with the manufacturer of electric car ‘Lucid Group’ and the emerging self -management technology company ‘Nuro’ to start a fleet of self -management taxis (robotics). Uber on Thursday revealed that it would buy and operate the vehicles of the “Lucid Graphi” sporty multi -use sports vehicles with self -management technology, “Nuro Driver” as part of its participating ride network. It plans to start the first vehicle in a large US city later in 2026 that has not yet been unveiled, with the intention of deploying at least 20,000 self -management taxis within six years. The participating passenger business also announced separate investments of hundreds of millions of dollars in ‘Lucid’ and ‘Noro’. These investments will include $ 300 million for “Lucid”, which will be partly used to update their collection line with the aim of integrating “Noro” devices into “graffiti” vehicles, according to the electric vehicles manufacturer. The price of the “Lucid” shares rose 62% before reducing its profits to 46% to $ 3.35, at 08:53 hours in the early trading before the opening of the New York market. Uber shares rose 1% to $ 91.62. Uber partnerships in self -driving cars come to the Lucid and Noro Deal after more than 12 partnerships were announced by Uber with self -managed vehicle developers and car manufacturers, including “Wimo” and “Volkswagen Group of America”, while they are the first commercial application of self -managed cars. Earlier this week, Uber announced a partnership with the Chinese “Baidu” for self -management technology to deploy self -managing taxis in several non -American markets. Self -driving rides are currently available via the “Uber” application in Phoenix, Austin, Atlanta and Abu Dhabi. ‘Uber’ and ‘Bido’ work together to launch ‘robotics’ in Asia and the Middle East and reflect the great investments of ‘Uber’ that turns his strategy away from the development of self -management technology, as it did during the era of the founder and former CEO, Travis Kalnik, in favor of a partnership with companies that have been specialized in this field. According to CEO Dara Khusushhi, the company has used its profits from some of its shares in companies such as “Aurora Inovon”, which specializes in self -managing trucks. An intense competition reinforces the competition in the self -management taxi market, which is still in its first stage, with the launch of the company “Tesla” last month in Austin, and CEO Elon Musk promised to expand other cities. Tesla begins with a limited operation of self -managing taxis in Texas, was ‘Uber’, his partnership with ‘Noro’ in 2022 in the field of food delivery robots. The following year, Noro of building and expanding self -connections specifically designed to focus on developing self -management software. Why “Lucid”? The partnership with Uber adds a prominent agent to ‘Lucid’, one of the few companies specializing in the electric auto industry in the United States, at a time when he attempts to promote his second ‘graffiti’ vehicle. The company is working to increase production and delivery, and is estimated that it will produce 20 thousand vehicles in 2025, more than twice the production of the previous year. It should be noted that the provisional models of self -managing taxis developed by ‘Lucid’ and ‘Noro’ are currently used in the fields of a closed test of ‘Noro’ in Las Vegas. Lucid’s temporary CEO Mark Vinthahov said Uber chose her multi -use sports car because the company could integrate the necessary devices into its factory. “Noro” software will be added after receiving vehicles. Vinterev said in May in contact with investors that the company is in advanced talks with ‘graffiti’ partners for self -management purposes. ‘Lucid’ strives for new partnerships in the Vintereh Electric Car Manufacturing, explained to ‘Bloomberg’ this week: ‘This step is a starting point in our journey to expand our technological excellence from electric cars and licensing to partnerships in other areas. Many can occur within six years. I just see it a start. ” Lucid is also working on the development of advanced leadership systems and announced a partnership with King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in Saudi Arabia earlier this year. Vinthahov said the business still intends to work on its techniques for self -management and manager assistance techniques. Lucid announced this week that it will add the driving functions without using hands and to change the way to his software collection.
