From buyer to seller, happy with all GST Reforms: CM Manik Saha of Tripura

Agartala, September 24 (IANS). Tripura chief minister Manik Saha said on Wednesday that all new GST (tax on goods and services) of the buyer to the seller is satisfied with the reforms. The chief minister participated in a campaign on GST reforms at Maharajganj Market, the main business center of Tripura, and said that people thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for reducing prices of goods, especially basic and essential commodities. Saha said: “In the future, India can become the best in the world in terms of the economy.” He said that on the instructions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced new GST reforms, which came into effect from 22 September. Saha said: “I visited the biggest Maharajganj market to investigate the implementation of this new system. I talked to both traders and buyers and knew their reactions to the work done by the prime minister. It was clear that there was an atmosphere of happiness for lack of goods. The chief minister also reminded that there were many types of tax earlier. He said: “When the luggage came out of the factory, there was a tax to be paid. The road tax, VAT and the transport of goods from one state to another was extra tax. When all this mixed GST was in operation, but initially there was a lot of riot about it.” Referring to the GST reduced from five pages to two pages, the chief minister said that when Prime Minister Narendra Modi began tax reforms, the opposition said the country would be destroyed and the economy would collapse.
