Mysuru (Karnataka) [India]August 15 (Ani): Yuvraj Sandhu on Friday stamped his authority in the Mysuru Open 2025 by registering a bumpy eighth shot to clinch his third title of the season, which also helped to consolidate his lead in the PGTI command of merit, according to a release of MySuru. Yuvraj (61-65-62-61), coming from Chandigarh, showed up a wire-to-thread winner to a particularly final round of nine under 61, corresponding to his tournament layer of Round One, which ended this week with an astonishing total of 31-under 249 in his first appearance in the Pistine Jaayachamaja Wadiyar Golf Club (JWGC). The 28-year-old Sandhu, an international winner, picked up the winner’s check worth INR 15 Lakh who took his season’s earnings to INR 73,67,200, giving him a significant lead of more than INR 12 lakh in the PGTI order of merit. The champion took home the elegant new trophy depicting the majestic Mysore Palace, the largest landmark of Mysuru. Since the preference rule was in application throughout the week due to the rain that preceded the event, Yuvraj’s total of the tournament, the lowest ever on the PGTI, will not register as a PGTI record. Jamal Hossain of Bangladesh (62-65-64-66) was second on a total of 23 under 257 after his 66-round attempt. Arjun Prasad of Delhi (66-62-64-66) finished third at 22 below 258 after shooting a final round of 66. Sandhu, winner of the first two events of the 2025 PGTI season, said: “Winning with a 31-under score and a big margin is something every professional golfer dreams of. I am now looking forward to conveying this form in the season ahead. Sandhu said. ‘ I would like to thank the JWGC for a wonderful course set up this week. Jamal Hossain, who was second overnight, came up with six birds on the day, but his early double boge made it difficult to catch up with the best finish of the local finish.
