Kolkata, September 25 (IANS). Cesc Limited, a private power business owned by Sheev Goenka, announced a remuneration of Rs 5 Lakh to the families of the victims of the current. Earlier this week, after heavy rain in Kolkata and surrounding areas, many places were flooded, causing electrical wires in the water. The CESC business has a monopoly of electricity distribution in Kolkata districts and Howrah. The pressure on the business has increased due to these accidents. On Thursday afternoon, CESC Executive Director Avijit Ghosh said: “We are very sad about life because of natural disasters in our city. On humanitarian grounds, we decided to pay a compensation of Rs 5 Lakh to the family of each deceased.” This announcement of CESC came at a time when a Calcutta High Court divisional Court on Thursday also sought a detailed CESC report on current deaths. Earlier, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also held CESC directly responsible and demanded the company to give Rs 5 Lakh to each victim’s family and give work to a family. On behalf of the state government, Mamata Banerjee has already announced an ex -gratia amount of Rs 2 Lakh.
