Mohali’s special NDPS court found two Nepali women guilty of the Charas smuggling case. The court ordered both women to pay strict imprisonment and a fine of one lakh calls. The case is related to the police action at Derabassi Bus Stand in January 2023, where a total of five kg of Charas was recovered from women. The special NDPS court ordered two Nepali women to be convicted in Charas’s smuggling and a ten-year imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1 Lakh each. The case is related to the actions the police did at Derabassi bus stand on January 7, 2023. Asi Kuldeep Singh received secret information that two women residents came to Sunpura Rakka and Khumikala Khadka Aka Bimala and sold a large amount of Charas in Derabassi area. Police immediately blocked and stopped both women with the help of female policemen. During the search, three kg of Charas and two kilograms of Charas of the wallet of Khumikala Khadka were recovered from the bag of Sunpura Rakka. Both were arrested on the spot and a case was registered against them in terms of parts of the drug law. The forensic investigation confirmed that the recovered substance was Charas, with Tetra -hydro -cannabinal and other intoxicating elements. The court ordered the two accused to give strict imprisonment of ten years and a fine of Rs 1 Lakh each.
