Deputy Head Minister and Minister of Agriculture, Vijay Sinha, instructed to provide certified and advanced seeds to farmers by June 20 for sowing Kharif harvest. Deputy Head Minister and Minister of Agriculture, Vijay Sinha, has given the departmental officers instructions to give timely certified and advanced seeds for sowing Sharadiya (Kharif). He said that seeds of all Shardiya crops should be made available to farmers by June 20. The target for distributing paddy seeds is set for 30,000 quintal, with high yields paddy prabhed target 30.069 quintal, 9,500 quintal for hybrid maize and 9.740 quintal for Poveonpea. Timely distribution of these seeds gives farmers an opportunity for profitable farming in the Kharif season. The Deputy Head Minister has directed that the progress of seed distribution should be monitored regularly by the district. For this, the district targets were set by the Agriculture Division and the offer of seeds is assured in time. The Deputy Chief Minister called on the farmers to utilize the advanced and certified seeds distributed by the department and to increase production by cultivating scientific methods. This initiative is another important step towards the decision of ‘developed Bihar-rich farmer’.
