Farmers of Sonepat protested in underwater fields
Farmers from Barawasani, Bagru and Mehlana towns, which led him to protest in the underwater fields in the town of Barwasani on Wednesday, due to the release of rainwater from the fields. The demonstration was led by Zilla Parishad member Sanjay Barwasaniya, who demanded that the water stop drainage of the fields immediately. Barawasaniya, who protested in the bouncing fields, said this area had been decorated for many days, but the government said this area has been arguing for many days. The district administration also did not take a step to drain water. He said farmers are forced to manage water drainage themselves. He claims that the irrigation department has only 25 pumps, most of which do not work. He claimed that both the Boers and the general public were upset because of the apathy of the government. He said farmers spend hundreds of rupes out of their pockets due to no help from the district administration to buy diesel and electric wires for water drainage. Hundreds of hectares of agricultural land are in water underwater. Barwasaniya said that if drainage is not done on time, the next crop cycle will not be possible, which is concerned about their livelihoods. Barawasaniya and Yashpal have accused the government of making holes on welfare welfare and doing nothing to help them at ground level. He said that farmers had already suffered huge losses due to rain and lack of officials. They also claimed that the authorities made no concrete arrangements to drain water from the fields in question. Barwasaniya warned that if the district administration did not act immediately, there would be major protests at the district magistrate’s office. He demanded that the farmers whose crops were completely destroyed should get compensation from one lakh calls per acre.
