'Father's relationship with my wife...', video of former Punjab DGP's son before his death, FIR also against 3 family members

Aqeel Akhtar (35), son of former DGP of Punjab Mohammad Mustafa and former cabinet minister Razia Sultana, died under suspicious circumstances at his home in Panchkula, which has now taken a new turn. The family initially said the cause of death was drug overdose. However, an FIR has now been registered against the former DGP, his wife, daughter and daughter-in-law. A video of Akil has emerged in which he says, “My father is having an illicit relationship with my wife.” Akil’s father Mohammad Mustafa was a 1985 batch IPS officer. He retired from the post of DGP in 2021. After this he decided to enter politics and joined the Congress Party. He was also an advisor to Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu. In this case, a person named Shamsuddin Akil submitted his complaint and video to the Panchkula Police Commissioner. Based on this, Panchkula MDC police station registered a case against Mohammad Mustafa, his wife, former minister Razia Sultana, daughter-in-law and daughter under sections 103 (1) and 61 of the IPC. Mohammad Mustafa was charged with murder and Akil Akhtar with criminal conspiracy. Along with him, his wife, daughter and daughter-in-law were also accused of being involved in the conspiracy. Akil Akhtar’s video: Akil died in Panchkula late evening on October 16. The family said he died of a drug overdose. When he was brought to a hospital in Panchkula, he was dead. 35-year-old Akil Mustafa was a lawyer in the Punjab and Haryana High Court. Earlier, a video of Akil dated August 27 surfaced in which he claimed that his family members were conspiring to kill him. In the video, Akil said that there were illicit relations between his father and his wife. DCP formed SIT. Shamsuddin, a resident of Malerkotla, Punjab, filed a complaint regarding Akil’s death. A case of murder was registered on October 20. The DCP said a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted under the supervision of an ACP rank officer and it will thoroughly investigate every aspect of the case. Share this story Tags
