Fighting over a bed, homeless man suspected of being ODGJ hacks Jukir in Makassar

Jakarta – Police have arrested a homeless person believed to be a person with mental disorders (ODGJ) with the initials OM, who cut down a parking guard (jukir) with the initials BA in Makassar City, South Sulawesi. The offender attacked the victim because he was annoyed that his bed was being used. “The motive was, so this OM felt that the bed, which was used for rest every day, was used to rest by BA, the victim,” Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Ujung Pandang Police, Inspector Andi Ilham Anwar, told journalists, reported by detikSulsel on Thursday (23/10/2025). The incident happened on Wednesday (22/10) evening on Jalan Gunung Bawakaraeng, Ujung Pandang District, Makassar. Based on CCTV video footage around the scene, the perpetrator butchered the victim who was sleeping in front of the shophouse. The victim who sustained serious injuries is currently being treated at the Bhayangkara Hospital. The police suspect that the perpetrator is ODGJ. From the results of the investigation, it is also known that the perpetrator has been involved in legal problems three times in the Ujung Pandang police area. “We also explained that based on our investigation, this OM is suspected of having a mental disorder.
