Fire service alert, 12 fire stations and 247 personnel deployed in Gautam Buddha Nagar on Diwali.

Noida, October 20 (IANS). The fire department has started preparations on war footing to ensure security arrangements in Gautam Buddha Nagar district on the holy festival of Diwali. Under the leadership of Fire Chief Pradeep Kumar Choubey, extensive deployment and arrangements of resources across the district have been made so that immediate action can be taken in case of any emergency. A total of 12 fire stations are operational in the district, which includes Phase One, Phase Two, Phase Three, Sector-58, Expressway, Surajpur (Greater Noida), Knowledge Park, Ecotech I, Ecotech III, Jewar, Dadri and Gaur City. Currently, 247 firefighters will be deployed in different shifts. The equipment and vehicles are ready according to the plan issued by the fire department. The fire department has completed the functionality of all equipment. Foam soft: 1, water bowser: 5, large water soft: 1 and small water tender: 2 are available with the vehicle. Apart from this, standby fire tenders and cycle units have been deployed at all major markets, intersections and sensitive places. The fire brigade has put on special duty at many places including fire bikes and fire extinguisher units in congested areas like Atta Market, Toy Mall Sector-62, Village Nawada, Mamuna, Sarfabad, Tugalpur and Echchar. One fire tender was also deployed at the fireworks grounds. The fire department said that according to the data of the past 3 years, there were 1,123 fire incidents and 150 rescues in the year 2023. There were 1,514 incidents and 278 rescues in the year 2022. There were 1,368 incidents and 264 rescues in the year 202 were taken. The fire department appealed to the public to celebrate ‘Safe Diwali, Happy Diwali’. Burn crackers only in open spaces, keep children under supervision, do not overload electrical decorations, carry a bucket of water or a fire extinguisher and contact 101 or 112 immediately in case of any incident. –IANS pkt/abm
