Uttarakhand: Alternative route marked in landslide zone for visit to Chardham

Dehradun, April 17 (IANS). Chardham’s visit to Uttarakhand begins from April 30 this year. Millions are expected to come into it. Pankaj Kumar Pandey, Secretary of Public Works (PWD), spoke to the Ians news agency on Thursday about the visit to Chardham. He informed that the roads of Chardham, in the light of traffic, were expanded. Double tracks are prepared. At the same time, alternative routes were marked in landslide zones. In the meeting of other officials, including DM, instructions were given that alternative routes during the visit to Chardham should be prepared in the landslide zones. If the main road is interrupted during disasters or heavy rain, we must use an alternative route so that the journey is not interrupted in any way. He said that the PWD and the state government are fully ready to welcome the passengers for the visit to Chardham. During the media interaction on April 14, Pankaj Kumar Pandey said that there are many places in the hilly areas on the route of Chardham Yatra, where there is a possibility of accident. Now reform work has been started by identifying these risky inaccessible places so that any kind of accident can be prevented in the future. He said that the government’s goal is for all the devoted to experience Chardham Yatra a safe and smooth journey so that they do not have to have any problems.
