First Look At ABC Comedy

The halls of Abbott Elementary have opened for Season 5 as the award-winning comedy returns to ABC.

Quinta Brunson stars as Janine Teagues, an optimistic second-grade teacher at a predominantly Black public school in West Philadelphia.

Brunson’s co-stars include Tyler James Williams as Gregory Eddie, Janelle James as Ava Coleman, Lisa Ann Walter as Melissa Schemmenti, Chris Perfetti as Jacob Hall, Sheryl Lee Ralph as Barbara Howard, and William Stanford Davis as Mr. Johnson.

The new season of Abbott Elementary filmed an episode at the Philadelphia Phillies baseball game, which the cast shared a photo of the moment in August. Brunson also recently teased that Season 5 would feature more Janine and Gregory moments, as well as a “game-changer” that will “make or break” the school.

Episode 501 — “Team Building” (October 1): The teachers prepare for the upcoming school year with new faces and big changes on the horizon.

Episode 502 — “Cheating” (October 8): Melissa tries to outsmart her students; Tariq causes chaos in Janine’s class, and a new guidance counselor joins the school.

Episode 504 — “Ballgame” (October 15): The Abbott crew heads to the ballpark for Teachers’ Appreciation Night at the Philadelphia Phillies game.

Abbott Elementary drops new episodes on Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
